Drafted position and white papers  pertaining to the regulatory process; major contributor to white paper on regulatory transition from the U.S. Department of Energy to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
As a member of the Readiness to Proceed teams, assessed the TWRS contractor’s readiness to proceed with privatization. Responsible for assessing the areas of environment, health, safety and quality assurance. (1998 and 2000)
Principal Author, Integrated Licensing Strategy for the Hanford Tank Waste Remediation System. (1998–1999)
Member of Y-12 Enriched Uranium Operations Restart Management Assessment Team. Evaluated the areas of safety analysis review and unreviewed safety questions.
Assisted Y-12 Enriched Uranium Operations Restart Team in preparing briefings for the Defense Nuclear Facility Safety Board staff. (1998)
As mentor for the Tank Waste Remediation System (TWRS) Final Safety Analysis Report, developed strategies for addressing various technical issues that produced the first FSAR compliant to U.S. Department of Energy Orders; prepared briefings for the Defense Nuclear Facility Safety Board and its staff and briefed the DNFSB; significantly enhanced the credibility of the TWRS Authorization Basis. (1996–1997)

Safety and Hazards Analysis
Major author of the Hanford high-level waste tank authorization basis evolution master plan. (1998)
Briefed the Defense Nuclear Facility Safety Board and staff on the Final Safety Analysis Report for the Hanford Site’s TWRS. (1996)
Served as primary interface with U.S. Department of Energy independent review team evaluating Hanford TWRS FSAR. (1996)
Member, Westinghouse Hanford Company Advisory Committee for TSRS Safety Analysis. Developed and assisted in execution of strategy that yielded Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board acceptance and document acceptance. (1995–1996)
Performed preliminary hazard screening for Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant Development Division projects. (1995)
Task Leader for the Hanford Site’s B Plant interim safety basis accident analysis. (1994)
Instructor for Process Safety Management Course for the National Safety Council and Westinghouse Hanford Company. (1993–1994)
Project Manager for development of interim safety basis (basis for interim operation) accident analysis for nuclear processing facility. (1994)
Project Manager for an OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119 process hazards analysis for an ammonia coolant system. (1992)
Performed hazards and operability studies for tritium processing, uranium conversion, and laser isotope separation facilities. (1988–1990)
Served on an accident investigation team for an incident involving fissile materials at a nuclear processing facility. (1990)
Served as a member of a U.S. Department of Energy/Martin Marietta Energy Systems, Inc., task force on regulatory comparability. (1989)
Assessed the radiological safety program at a nuclear fuel fabrication facility. (1985)
Principal Investigator for the safety critique of the Atomic Vapor Laser Isotope Separation process. (1983)
Principal Investigator for an assessment of the hazards associated with disposal of incompatible wastes at a hazardous and radioactive wastes disposal site. (1982–1983)
Principal Investigator for the development of credible accident scenarios and their subsequent analysis and for the identification of potential safety systems for Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant Wet Chemistry and Uranium Parts Manufacturing facilities. (1981–1982)
Performed criticality safety analysis of a UF6 product cold trap. (1981–1982)
Defined the minimum accident of concern and evaluated the adequacy of the protection system for gaseous diffusion plant. (1981–1982)
Principal Investigator for the FSAR for the Gas Centrifuge Enrichment Plant, which was developed in accordance with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Regulatory Guide 3.25. (1981)
Assessed the compatibility of Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant facilities with U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations. (1989)
