Robert N. Ferguson
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Recent experience includes serving as Vice President Nuclear from December 1998 to February 2000, of Ontario Hydro/Ontario Power Generation (OPGN) In this capacity, Mr. Ferguson reported to the Senior VP - Nuclear Performance Advisory Group, and the Chief Nuclear Officer for special assessments and mentoring activities. In 1999, Mr. Ferguson served as Vice President Technical Support of OPGN. In this capacity, Mr. Ferguson was responsible to the Chief Nuclear Officer for the management of Health and Safety, Environmental Affairs; Materials Management; Health Physics; Emergency Management; Security & Safeguards; Fire Protection Programs; and Programming. Mr. Ferguson was also responsible for the concept, formation and startup of the OPGN independent Nuclear Environmental Advisory Group modeled after the DOE federally chartered Site Specific Advisory Boards. During 1997, Mr. Ferguson served as Vice President, Nuclear Quality for Ontario Hydro Nuclear. In this capacity, Mr. Ferguson served as part of a four person team that managed a major Independent Integrated Performance Assessment (IIPA) of the 20 nuclear plant operation over a period of six months which led to the development of a nuclear recovery plan budgeted well in excess of $1Billion US. During 1995-1996, Mr. Ferguson served as INEEL Oversight Administrator for the State of Idaho. In this capacity, Mr. Ferguson managed the comprehensive nuclear oversight program of the Idaho National Environmental Engineering Laboratory (INEEL). This included all INEEL activities of DOE, the US Navy and their contractors as well as interfacing with the US Environmental Protection Agency. The mission of the program was to provide to the Governor, the State Legislature and the public unbiased information and independent technical analysis of the INEEL data and related issues. This position required a US Department of Energy Q level Security Clearance. From 1981 to 1994, Mr. Ferguson provided independent assessment and management consulting to United States and foreign nuclear utility companies with the primary goal of enhancing the safety of their operations. This involved most areas of constructing, operating, and managing commercial BWR and PWR nuclear power plants. During this time, Mr. Ferguson served on the Off-Site Nuclear Safety Review Committee for the Illinois Power Company. Clinton Nuclear Power Plant.
