than 45 years of nuclear engineering and management experience with unique
strengths in D&D, project management, independent assessment, motivating
employees, and regulatory compliance. DETAILED EXPERIENCE
- Successfully managed the Spent Nuclear Fuel (SNF) Program for Fluor
Hanford, with a staff of 650 and an annual expenditure rate of
approximately $120 million.
- Managed the deactivation and decommissioning of the 400 Megawatt thermal
Fast Flux Test Facility (FFTF) at Hanford, with a staff of 225 and an
annual budget of $40 million.
- Provided leadership for the decontamination and decommissioning, and
dismantlement of plutonium handling facilities at the U.S. Department of
Energy Rocky Flats Site, including all environmental restoration and waste
management operations. This was accomplished while achieving the best
industrial safety record in the DOE complex.
- Completed the Decommissioning of the first long-term operating
commercial reactor in the United States ahead of schedule and under budget
($189,000,000). This reactor was re-powered utilizing combined cycle
technology.
- Successful management of Hanford’s chemical processing and waste
management operations, including restart of PUREX, UO3, the Plutonium
Finishing Plant, and the completion of all single shell tank salt well
pumping (liquid removal).
- Broad background in engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance,
fabrication, and procurement.
- Demonstrated achievements in safety and productivity improvement.
