EXPERIENCE SUMMARY

Over 30 of diversified management, supervision, and design experience on key projects for all of Duke Power’s nuclear stations, non-nuclear facilities, and the Yucca Mountain Project. Mr. Sandifer has coordinated and led executive management consulting team efforts for wide variety of projects. Mr. Sandifer has extensive design and management experience on projects involving instrumentation and control/process computer application development for commercial fossil generation facilities and piping system design/layout, mechanical systems/ equipment engineering, HVAC engineering, fire protection engineering, and nuclear engineering for commercial nuclear power facilities. Mr. Sandifer has a proven record of effectively managing multiple tasks and projects, consistently meeting deadlines, responding positively to client needs, and delivering products of uniformly high quality. Mr. Sandifer has successfully coordinated and managed projects requiring creativity, decisiveness, and responsiveness of demanding short-term schedules. KEY PROJECTS

05/03 – 2004 Management Consultant, IDT (Yucca Mountain Project)

Responsible for developing recommended strategies for performing requirements flowdown and compliance assessments, as well as, performing assessments and analyses/studies in support of the Requirements and Configuration Manager in Repository Development in support of the repository design for the Yucca Mountain Project (YMP) Office of Repository Development for the DOE.

09/01 – 05/03 Requirements and Configuration Management (RCM) Manager, IDT

Responsible for managing a BSC multi-discipline organization responsible for the development, implementation, and compliance confirmation of the BSC Requirements and Configuration Management programs for the BSC Manager of Projects in support of the Yucca Mountain Office of Repository Development (YM ORD) for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

02/01 – 09/01 Management Consultant, IDT. (Yucca Mountain Project )

Responsible for performing analyses and studies as directed by the BSC Site Services and Field Support Manager in support of site support operations and by the BSC Repository Design Manager in support of repository design for the Yucca Mountain Project (YMP) office of Repository Development for the DOE.

11/94 – 02/01 Site Construction & Operations Manager, Yucca Mountain Project

Responsible for managing a multi-discipline organization responsible for the management of all construction and operational support activities for the field scientific investigations at Yucca Mountain for the DOE.

04/93 – 11/94 MGDS Development Manager, Yucca Mountain Project

Responsible for managing a multi-discipline engineering organization responsible for the design of the Exploratory Studies Facility (ESF) (Title II), Repository Advanced Conceptual Design and the Waste Management Advanced Conceptual Design of the Yucca Mountain Site Characterization Project for the DOE.

04/92 – 04/93 MGDS Development Manager, Duke Engineering & Services (Yucca Mountain Project)

Responsible for managing a multi-discipline engineering and construction management organization responsible for the design of the ESF (Title II), Repository Advanced Conceptual Design, and the Waste Management Advanced Conceptual Design of the Yucca Mountain Site Characterization Project for the DOE.

11/91 – 04/92 Engineering Manager, Duke Engineering & Services

Responsible for multiple client projects principally focused on consulting services which included contracts with the DOE Savannah River Site, Martin Marietta at ORAL, and several commercial nuclear utilities.

11/88 – 11/91 Engineering Manager, Duke Power Company

Responsible for managing all corporate mechanical, chemical, and nuclear engineering in support of the Catawba Nuclear Station. Responsible for managing and performing numerous consulting studies in support of Duke Engineering and Services, Inc.

09/87 – 11/88 Principal Engineer, Duke Power Company

Responsible for managing a multi-discipline engineering project team charged with the design of a four-unit 1000 MWe pumped storage facility in western South Carolina.

11/86 – 09/87 Principal Engineer, Duke Power Company

Responsible for managing multi-discipline project groups charged with the design responsibility for client projects.

10/81 – 11/86 Principal Engineer, Duke Power Company

Responsible for managing over 150 engineers and designers charged with the mechanical design activities associated with the construction and operations support of commercial nuclear generating facilities.

Responsible for managing the group responsible for the design of pressure piping; plant modeling; and the design, specification, and procurement of process instrumentation and controls of all new stations.
