fire protection programs for a carbon black plant with approximately
100 employees. |

Duties included air sampling, hearing conservation, personal
protective equipment, fire extinguisher training, OSHA record keeping and reporting,
dust sampling, budgets, ordering of equipment and supplies. Responsible
for conducting all accident investigations, fire investigations, and
safety meetings. |
Industrial Safety Engineer: Union Carbide Corporation, Y-12 Plant, Oak
Ridge, TN, 1976-1978
 |
Responsible for implementing industrial safety programs for the
Engineering, Stores, and Utility Divisions. |
 |
Major duties included: determination and classification of
occupation injuries/illnesses, investigation of accidents and near
misses, conducting formal safety meetings, presentations for the
plant’s Central Safety Meeting, analysis and review of safety
suggestions, monthly/annual statistics, and monthly field
review/inspection of all construction jobs. |
